| Flamenco Kali, oil: my first painting after the barn fire |
Never thought I'd be a blogger--what an unpleasant sounding word--but never expected to feel this incredible loss. I do not know how those who have lost their homes and pets continue their lives. Watching the barn flame like the burning of Atlanta and knowing that three dear creatures were in that inferno have left me vacillating between mind void and devastation. Sensitivity and imagination become curses when I think of how their last minutes were spent. Dear God, I want to believe that Starr was struck directly by lightning and the powerful electrical charge took Hildy and Sophie instantly. I cannot endure the thought that they had moments of terror, expecting human intervention to rescue them; I cannot endure.
