More looking back

Dog Fountain Downtown Roanoke   watercolor
This is from a photograph I took in 2009 of Rod putting his hand in the famous dog fountain in downtown Roanoke. This was my first try at hands, flesh, splashing water, and sculptured metal.
Churchyard Irises oil 16 x 20
Officially my first oil painting although I had dabbled in a couple of canvases when my mother was alive and painting--this was created in Elizabeth Byglar's weekend oil-painting workshop at The Bower Center.

A Look Back

This post will grow with time. Just a look at some of my creations in my short career as an artist.
Mosaic bird bath made in class taught by Dotti Stone at The Bower Center
Watercolors created in classes taught by Rod Adams at Art on Depo/
The Electric Company.
"Queen Edrie" inspired from all the little projects
in Karen Nuzzo's Fiber Arts class, also at The Bower Center
"Anna"  oil 16 x 20
Here I took a Fauvist lean with colors. I love color, a reason I chose this photograph I took of Anna at a friend's annual "Girls' Pool Party."
photography at TECAC
This was the opening of The Electric Company Artists' Co-op (TECAC), December 2012. A couple of the photographs were the last ones developed by Kodak before it closed. I had picked some of my favorite shots for printing since I loved their professional metallic finish and didn't know if I would find another quality source.

Works in progress "art from ashes"

Working on pieces currently, some of which will be featured art that we will hang July 4.

Kitty Fearless critiques one work in progress (18" x 18")
She said it needs some more work.
